T.net WIM (Weigh in Motion) is the innovative system for the dynamic weighing of vehicles on the road developed by T.net to achieve a high level of accuracy, reliability and simplicity in the collection of statistical data and in reports aimed at on-site interventions.
The T.net WIM System is applicable both to basic installations, on a single lane, and to complex multi-lane environments with heavy traffic.
How does it work?
The control unit acts on several fronts: license plate recognition, panoramic cameras, sensors for measuring the physical characteristics of the vehicles, variable message signs. The key element of T.net’s WIM is the use of data fusion between data detected by road sensors, inductive loops and other systems, in order to recognize the weight and associate it with other information relating to the vehicle. The “embedded” software solution of T.net WIM allows access to all system features and allows direct intervention.
T.net WIM meets most of the criteria for traffic detection and dynamic weighing. Vehicle data (total gross weight, axle load, wheel load, vehicle type / category, vehicle speed, distance, vehicle size, etc …) are collected with high accuracy for both low and high speeds. In the event of vehicle overweight detection, it is also possible to subsequently allow the police in charge of direct intervention on site.
